Naiyi Wang is a curator and researcher, she currently serves as the Director of Beijing Art and Technology Biennale (BATB), the Initiator of Shenzhen Art and Technology Biennale (SATB), as well as the Founder of Fair of Art, Science & Technology (FAST), and MediumMedia®. She curated the inaugural Beijing Art and Technology Biennale (BATB) Synthetic Ecology (2022) and the second edition Earthwise (2024), which have brought together more than 200 renowned artists and scientists from all over the world.
Over the past five years, she has independently and collaboratively curated numerous exhibitions, including the inaugural Shenzhen Art and Technology Biennale (2026), the inaugural Hong Kong International AI Art Festival (2025), the inaugural Bay Area Art and Technology Triennial (2025), Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale (2024), Wuhan Biennale (2024), Guangzhou Design Triennial (2024), London Design Biennale (2023), Beijing Media Art Biennale (BMAB), and Asia Digital Art Exhibition (ADAE), among many others.
She is a recipient of Sino-British Fellowship Trust, and is currently completing a PhD through a joint programme between Royal College of Art (RCA) and Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). She has been lecturing in Curatorial Studies programme at Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) since 2017.
Naiyi Wang has extensive international collaboration experience. As Director of Beijing Art and Technology Biennale (BATB), she has embedded the biennial within a global knowledge‑exchange ecosystem. In 2024, BATB became a member of the International Biennial Association (IBA), establishing strategic ties with over 60 leading biennials and triennials worldwide.
Since 2020, BATB has maintained a strong international focus: more than two‑thirds of its participating artists and scientists are from outside China, ensuring global perspectives and cultural diversity. BATB has also built collaborations with research labs such as Critical Media Lab, ETH AI Center, arc/sec Lab, and MIT Media Lab, as well as institutions including the Austrian Cultural Forum, Pro Helvetia, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and Swissnex, etc.
Her influence extends to the highest diplomatic levels: on 16 April 2024, she met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss Sino‑German cultural exchange; on 2 August 2024, she met with Seoul Mayor Oh Se‑hoon to explore Korea‑China collaboration in art, science and technology. She also serves as a jury member for the FutureTense Awards (media art and digital art) and as an advisor to the theartaward.ai, contributing to international award systems.
